Senior Choir

In 2004 our choir made a Christmas CD. Below you can listen to a sample of the songs. (The songs available on the website are of lower sound quality than the CD to save space). If you'd like to purchase one of these CD's please inquire at the church office (633-1188), or you can make an email request.

MUSIC AT ST. MARK featuring a fine Wicks pipe organ.

The Junior Choir, grades 2-12, meets on Sunday mornings from 11:40 until 12:10 in the sanctuary, following the 10:15 worship service.  The Junior Choir sings in 2 parts, and performs monthly at the 10:15 service.  All are welcome—we are a great bunch of musicians!

The Senior Choir, grades 13 and up, rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 until 9:00 in the sanctuary.  We sing all styles of music from Renaissance to contemporary tunes, with Bach and spirituals also represented.   We have performed Masses, Cantatas, and other large works.  This Christmas we are featuring favorites from Handel’s Messiah at our 10:00 PM Christmas worship service.  We offer many opportunities for solos and small ensembles, especially at Christmas, and over the summer.  And I just had a member volunteer to sing a solo to enhance our 8:00 worship service.   I have many resources to help you find something you may enjoy performing.

The Young People’s Choir, ages 20 something, is our newest group.  We formed Christmas of 2008, to sing at the Christmas Eve 10:00 PM service, and returned on Good Friday to sing a moving rendition of Were You There?  The Young People’s choir will return this Christmas, and new members are welcome!

The Orchestra at St. Mark, for instrumentalists who have played at least 3 years.  We perform three or four times a year, especially at Christmas Eve 5:00 family service, often at Reformation Sunday, and sometimes at Easter, as well as special occasions, such as anniversaries.  We presently feature violins, violas, cellos, basses, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, a pennywhistle, an oboe, a flute, and a bassoon.  Often the instrumentalists combine with choir anthems.

Interested?  Come and check us out as we make a joyful noise to the Lord!
