Picture of our church
On behalf of the Christian Education Department, welcome to The Lutheran Church of St. Mark!
Started in 1885, we will be serving our community for 125 years.

As the Education Chair, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in our church.  Our education program is centered around the Bible.

The Bible is the divine Word of God and the ultimate authority for all Christians.  Therefore, it is essential for Christians to nourish and strengthen their faith by studying, understanding and celebrating the Bible.

We have a very strong Education Department for children, teens and adults alike. Our offerings include:

Adult Forum
Except for the summer months, St. Mark's has two Sunday services (8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.). In between these services at 9 a.m. we get together in the original part of the church for this informal gathering. Interesting DVD-based programs and guest speakers, as well as the Pastor's leadership have made this an educational opportunity well-worth attending. Please come and have fellowship while learning more about God.

Adult Bible Study
We welcome all adult and young adult members who wish to better understand the Bible and God's message, regardless of your previous knowledge of the Bible.

For those who wish to learn more about the Bible, we offer two informal groups that meet for this purpose. The Sunday group that meets at 7 p.m. has about 6-8 people and is led by Chuck Edinger. The Wednesday group meets at 10 a.m. with Pastor Sara in her office.

Both groups are open and we invite new members to participate at any time

Sunday School
Deb Gresens leads the Sunday school and it is open to children of all ages and is held in the Sunday school rooms at 9 a.m.

Vacation Bible School
Every summer, we offer a week-long full-day program at the church. The children enjoy refreshments and learn about our faith through crafts, songs, games and stories. All children are welcome to join. Barbara Im leads the Vacation Bible School. Please contact her or call the church office for more information.

On behalf of the entire Education Department, welcome to St. Mark!  Please consider participating in some or all of the programs we have to offer.

Sincerely,

Fran Kreigenhofer
Education Chair
