What Makes a Church a Church
Pastor Joe and Pastor Paul Krampitz invite you to join them on a Lenten Journey entitiled "The Marks of the Body of Christ", those things that Martin Luther saw as essential features of the true church; proclamation, baptism, Eucharist, office of the keys, ordination, catechesis and the cross of discipleship. We would use these central things as lenses through which we might consider our past, present, and future. Pastor Joe and Pastor Paul Krampitz will “team up” in celebration as both churches are celebrating anniversaries this year (St. Andrew, 25 years). This is seen as a time and an opportunity to honor and give thanks for our past ministry, strengthen the ministry we are presently engaged in and discern a vision of the ministry that God is calling us to in the future.
So join us beginning on Wednesday February 24 in the Fellowship Hall of St Mark from 6-8pm, including soup, bread, workship and study. Continuing each Wednesday through March 24 Pastor Krampitz will be leading St Marks during this journey and Pastor Joe will be at St Andrews Leading their congregation. Please sign up on the bulletin board.
Also, Pastor Joe has agreed to appear on the Lutheran Table Talk (taping Feb. 18, time slot TBD) for a discussion of what it means to be the church, using Luther’s sense of the marks of the body of Christ.
If you haven't been to our church in the past please call the church office or Pastor Joe with any questions.
