Picture of our church
How long does the service last?
About 1 hour.

Do I have to dress up?
You will find that some members where suits or skirts, some wear casual outfits and some wear jeans. We don't judge; we just want you to come.

Where will I sit?
Wherever you'd like. There is no assigned seating, but if you would like, one of our greeters or ushers at the door can help find a seat.

Do I have to make a donation?
We do pass a plate around about mid-service if you'd like to donate, but we don't require that you make a donation. A number of our members make an annual donation at the beginning of the year and don't put an envelope or money in the plate weekly. You should not feel
obligated to do so.

I've never been to a Lutheran service. How will I know what to do?
As you enter the church, an usher will give you a "bulletin". It will tell  you step by step what is happening in the service. Pastor generally indicates when we should sit or stand. Click here to see an example of a weekly bulletin.

What if I don't know the songs?
The bulletin will tell you where to find the song in our hymnal (the ELW). Feel free to just listen if you like. Our choir is wonderful and their voices fill the room.

Can my kids attend the service?
Yes! Everyone is welcome to attend! We love to have children at the service. Just before Pastor Lydia's sermon the kids are invited to the alter  to sit in a circle and participate in a "children's moment".

If you come to the 10:15 service, your young children (kingergarten aged and younger) can stay in the adult supervised nursery.

What about Communion?
All baptized Christians are welcome to Holy Communion. The bread is received in your open hand, and the wine from a glass. You may receive the whole Christ in the bread alone, or take one of the clear glasses of grape juice in the center of each tray.

What else can I expect?
A friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Refreshments after the service and a chance to meet the Pastor and our members.

So you'd like to come check us out but you're not sure of a few things. Here are some answers for you.
